The impact of joblessness and lack of prospect in a poor rural community has a direct impact to how people live their daily lives and how they view their future. In many developing countries, unemployment leads many to depression, desperation, listlessness and neglect for their communities and families
The Economic Development projects are an expression of iGA's commitment to reduce poverty and stop the deterioration of living conditions of the people in small villages in Equatorial Guinea. Through these projects we hope to
- Increase use of skills, knowledge, and ability of impoverished people living in rural villages in Equatorial Guinea.
- Strengthen relationships and communication among diverse skill sets within the community
- Improve community initiative, responsibility, and adaptability. Communities need to adapt to change. Only through strategic local action can a community turn its vision into reality.
- Work toward establishing projects that are sustainable and healthy for the fragile ecosystems. The responsible stewardship of natural resources will allow communities to sustain themselves. In addition, humans are part of the ecosystem, and their physical and mental well-being is also important.
- Promote self-sufficiency and prosperity by encouraging local people to invest in the community, and local businesses, to network and find new markets.
